Abstract

1403970 Mounting wiper blades SOC ANON POUR L'EQUIPEMENT ELECTRIQUE DES VEHICULES SEV MARCHAL 21 Jan 1974 [19 Jan 1973] 2671/74 Heading A4F A windscreen wiper includes a wiper blade 2 articulated either directly or by means of a frame member 1 to a wiper arm, the blade 2 including a longitudinal groove 8 in each lateral face and a notch which extends down to the grooves 8. A channel section bridging member 18 is inserted in the notch and a gripping member 3 having inturned end portions 7 slides in respective grooves 8 into position over the bridging member 18, at least one of forward legs 21 thereof constituting a stop against forward movement of member 3, and at least one of rearward legs 22 constituting a stop against rearward movement. The wiper may also include a stiffening member comprising two strips 11a, 11b inserted in a corresponding channel 12, each strip having notches 26, 27 which match notches 15, 16. A second member 3 may act merely as a guide (as shown) or may co-operate with a second bridging member 18.
