Abstract

1403440 Cleaning photo-conductive surfaces XEROX CORP 26 Sept 1972 [27 Sept 1971] 44341/72 Heading G2H Xerographic drum 10 is cleaned of residual toner particles by a longitudinally reciprocated elastomeric blade 20, which may be of polyurethane. The blade is moved by a cam 57 and spring 59 arranged so that as the drum turns the blade moves in co-ordination. Preferably the rotation of the cam and reciprocation of the blade take place in increments, and the cam is driven by a pawl 70 and ratchet wheel 55, themselves linked by gears to the rotation of the drum.
