Abstract

1402586 Filter ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 27 Sept 1972 [28 Sept 1971] 44578/72 Heading BID A filter for removing solids from a liquid, e.g. fuel, comprises a housing 11 with inlet 15 and outlet 13 and containing, in series, a coarse filter element 18 formed of a spirally wound felt strip 19 attached to a plastics or impregnated paper carrier strip 20 and a fine filter element comprising a filter paper 16 spirally wound around central tube 14. Alternate adjacent top and bottom edge of the spirally wound paper are formed by a sealant to form an axial flow filter element comprising two interfitting spirals. The paper element is supported on a perforated plate 17. Filtered liquid reaches outlet 13 via the. interior of central tube 14.
