Abstract
1401357 Detectors and discriminators INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 7 Dec 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 56484/72 Headings H3Q and H3A In a radio frequency receiving circuit comprising an amplifier 9, a demodulator 9 for demodulating a signal amplified by the amplifier and a frequency selective circuit 10, 11 for selecting a reference frequency signal U ref from the amplified signal and feeding it to the demodulator 9, the frequency selective circuit comprises a first LC resonant circuit L1, C1 and a second LC resonant circuit L2, C2 both of which are tuned to the same frequency and which are over critically reactively coupled together to form a double peaked bond pass filter and two diode rectifiers 12, 13 are connected to the band pass filter 10, 11 to form a frequency discriminator. A limiter may be combined with the amplifier and demodulator 9. The output NF from the demodulator provides a signal voltage to a video amplifier and the demodulator operates as a heterodyne detector. The band pass filter 10, 11 has a reference carrier signal U ref /frequency characteristic having a double hump (Fig. 5, not shown). The receiving circuit may be used for frequency stabilization of UHF oscillators using varactor diodes.
