Abstract
1401041 Combined evaporator/condenser KORES HOLDING ZUG AG 18 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 23525/72 Heading B1B [Also in Division F4] Volatile solvent is recovered from a coating on one side of a web 1 by passing the web over heaters 5 with the coated side facing away from the heaters, and condensing the resulting vapours with condensors 9 and 10. Roller 8 may have a cover of silicone rubber or P.T.F.E. to prevent sticking of the coating. In the embodiment of Fig. 5, the heater is in the form of a rotatable drum 45, and entry is made by the web to the drum past sealing strip 53, and resilient sealing strips 54a, 54b, and 54c. The web may be paper, textile or plastic or metal foil and the solvent may be organic or inorganic e.g. water.
