Abstract

1399400 Control of displays SUWA SEIKOSHA KK 16 Oct 1972 [18 Oct 1971] 47598/72 Heading G4H In a display using columns of nematic liquid crystal cells, data signals input at 3-c are fed to exclusive-OR gates 3-e enabled by timing pulses 3-h, the resulting pulse signals passing through a memory 3-f (accessed by column selection signals 3-d<SP>1</SP> ... 3-d<SP>n</SP>) to individual electrodes of a column 3-g having a common electrode energized by the pulses 3-h. A " 1 " (" 0 ") signal input at 3-c results in pulses being applied to the corresponding individual electrode which are out of (in) phase with the pulses 3-h applied to the common electrode, so that the appropriate parts of the liquid crystal cell are actuated. Gates 3-e and memory 3-f are composed of p-channel MOSFETs
