Abstract

1399075 Overhead conveyers for garment hangers W M CISSELL MFG CO Inc 22 Feb 1973 [28 Feb 1972] 8838/73 Heading B8A Garment hangers are supported by an endless assembly of articulated links 61. These are supported by brackets 51 from a driven chain 43. The latter is supported from a fixed endless hanger rail 17 by brackets 22 from respective rollers 21 running within the rail. The joints between each pair of adjacent links 61 is by means of a domed headed pivot pin 67. The hanger makes 2-point contact with the lateral extremities of the rail 17 (Figs. 7 and 8), and it passes from spaced contact points 84, to points on the domed head of the pin 67, which are closer together. In a modification (Figs. 10 and 11), the rail 17 is narrow, and the hanger makes point contact with it. The domed head has cutaway sectors, and thus the hanger moves from point contact on the rail, to spaced apart contact on the domed head.
