1398584 Pesticidal thiophosphoric acid esters CIBA-GEIGY AG 1 Dec 1972 [3 Dec 1971 22 Sept 1972] 55590/72 Heading C2P Novel compounds of Formula I where R is -CH 3 or -C 2 H 5 , R 1 is n-C 3 H 7 , n-C 4 H 9 or n-C 5 H 11 or alkoxyalkyl or alkylthioalkyl having 1 or 2 C atoms in each alkyl moiety, R 2 is H or C 1-5 alkyl, R 3 is C 1-5 alkyl, X and X 1 are H or halogen and Y is O or S may be prepared (a) by reacting a compound of Formula III in the presence of a base or in the form of an alkali metal, ammonium or C 1-5 alkyl-ammonium salt, with a compound of Formula II or (b) by reacting a compound of Formula V with a compound MeSH where Me is alkali metal, ammonium or C 1-5 alkylammonium to produce a compound of Formula VI and reacting this salt with a compound R 1 Hal where Hal is Cl or Br. The compounds of Formula I have insecticidal and acaricidal properties and may be used as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions. The invention also comprises a compound of Formula I in a container which bears instructions for use of the compound as a pesticide.
