Abstract

1397846 Feeding tobacco BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO CO LTD 12 July 1973 [13 Sept 1972] 33235/73 Heading A2C [Also in Division B8] Tobacco is fed to cigarette making machines via one or more pipelines 12a, 12b, motor means driving belts to feed a discharge shoot 16 operating at lower or higher speed according to whether one or more pipelines are being fed. Each pipeline is connected to a plurality of cigarette making machines which are adapted to energise air flow in the associated pneumatic feed system when their tobacco supply diminishes, thus causing the associated pipeline to convey tobacco.
