Abstract

1397172 Resilient mountings VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY I KONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT KHIMICHESKOGO MASHINOSTROENIA and LENINGRADSKOE VYSSHEE INZHENERNOE MORSKOE UCHILISCHE IMENI ADMIRALA MAKAROVA SO 19 May 1972 23967/73 Heading F2S [Also in Division B2] In a centrifuge, Fig. 1, the rotor 3 which is connected to a drive shaft 7 is carried in an upright position by an elastic support 10 including a first group A of at least three elastic components 11 which in the course of rotation of the rotor oscillate only in a radial direction with respect to the rotor axis, a second group B of at least three elastic components 12 which in the course of rotation of the rotor oscillate only in an axial direction relative to the rotor, and a rigid member 13 interconnecting the elastic components of groups A and B. The shaft 7 is belt and pulley driven by an electric motor 9 and is mounted in bearings 6 in a housing 5 fastened to the centrifuge housing 2. The elastic support 10 is caused to rotate with the drive shaft 7 by the elastic components 11, 12 being connected with an adaptor 14 carried by the shaft 7 and with the rigid member 13 which is fastened to the flange 15 of the rotor shaft 16. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the elastic support is stationary with the elastic components connected with the rotor housing and with the rigid member. The rotor shaft is rotatably supported in bearings in the rigid member and is connected to the drive shaft by means of an elastic clutch. The elastic support 10, which is diagrammatically represented in Fig. 1, may be constructed as an integral unit, as shown in Figs. 6 and 7, in which the rigid member is in the form of concentric support bushings 53, 54 with the radially oscillatable elastic components located therebetween and formed by elastic sectors 55 of a cylinder coaxial with the bushings. Each of the sectors 55 is connected to the bushings 53 and 54 by radial webs 56 and 57 respectively. The axially oscillatable elastic components consist of flat elastic sectors 58, three of which are located at each end of the bushing 53, one end of each sector 58 being connected to the bushing 53 by means of an axial web 59, and the other end being connected by means of an axial web 60 to a support washer 61. When the elastic support rotates, the bushing 53 is fastened to the rotor shaft and the bushing 54 and the washer 61 are fastened to the adaptor of the drive shaft. In another form of rotatable elastic support, Fig. 8, the rigid member consists of a bushing 62 and is sudpended from the flange 64 of the drive shaft 65 by three elastic rods 66 constituting the radially oscillatable components. The axially oscillatable eastic components are constituted by elastic washers 71, 72 which are fastened to both ends of the flange 69 of the rotor shaft 63 in the bushing 62. Torque is transmitted from the bushing 62 to the shaft 63 by the washer 71 being fastened by a pin 73 to a cover 70 on the bushing, and the washer 72 being fixed to the flange 69 by means of a pin 74. The end washers 71, 72 may each be constructed in the form of an elastic ring 76 having axial projections 77, 78 and inner and outer radial projections 79, 80. The inner cylindrical surface of the projections 79 fixes the elastic washer in the radial direction on the projections of the flange 69 of the rotor shaft 63, and the outer cylindrical surface of the radial projections 80 fixes the washer in the radial direction in the bushing 62. Other forms of elastic supports and of end elastic washers are described.
