Abstract

1396559 Hand tool handles H HUNGER 22 Sept 1972 [25 Oct 1971] 44071/72 Headings B4K and B4W [Also in Division E2] A holder for a cleaning tool 1, comprises a first jaw 3 and a movable second jaw 4, a mounting 5 by which the jaws are pivotally interconnected and which extends rearwards from said jaws, a member, e.g. screw-toothed rack 11 mounted on the mounting 5 so as to be displaceable forwardly and rearwardly thereon, a connection 16 between the rack 11 and the movable jaw 4, and rotatable internally threaded adjusting means, e.g. nut 13, mounted on the mounting 5 and operable to move the rack 11 and thereby to operate the movable jaw 4. The clamping force applied by the jaws to the pad 1 can be regulated by means of the nut 13 to suit the size and material of the pad. The mounting 5 as shown is tubular to receive a handle 6. Slots 20 are provided in the fixed jaw 3 for attachment of a brush by means of screw fasteners.
