Abstract

1396350 Spectrometry BODENSEEWERK PERKIN-ELMER & CO GmbH 27 Sept 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 44697/72 Heading G2J [Also in Division H5] An absorption cell comprises an expandable graphite tube 1 in which the specimen is volatilized by electric resistive heating through the tube; the tube having a central hole 17 to pass protective gas from 16. Additionally passages 27 also pass protective gas into the electrodes (cross-hatched) and thus into the ends of the tube. The latter is taper-fitted into the electrodes. Coolant circulates in chambers 10, 11.
