Abstract

1395679 Mounting tape reels on hubs SIEMENS AG 31 Aug 1973 [1 Sept 1972] 41055/73 Heading F2U A tape reel holder comprises a flap 4 which when pivotable from a reel loading position first (e.g. at 2 degrees), moves radially outwards (e.g. via links 13, 16 and a lever 17), a catch arrangement (e.g. two catches 15, 19), to check that the reel has been pushed on far enough, then (e.g. at 20 degrees), moves (e.g. via ramps 30, 31 on the catch 15, and bell-crank levers 33), springs 28, 29 out radially and into contact with the reel, then (e.g. from 20 to 35 degrees), makes these springs press the reel against a flange 10 on the holder, and (e.g. from 70 to 90 degrees and via a lost-motion link 40 and a lever 42), moves a sleeve member 45 axial causing (e.g. via chamfered shoulders 49, 50), radial outward movement of thrust components 51 (e.g. locally expanding a rubber ring 2), to grip the reel. The holder may have a latch 6 to retain the flap in its 90 degree position. There may be three components 51, Fig. 5 (not shown).
