Abstract

1395548 Powder spray guns GEMA AG APPARTEBAU 28 July 1972 [2 Aug 1971 24 March 1972] 35452/72 Heading B2F A spray gun which has connected thereto a plurality of lines supplying different coloured powders, and also flushing air, has means whereby any powder line can be selected and placed in communication with the guns dispensing channel and prior to each selection flushing air is supplied to the dispensing channel. As shown, powder and air lines are alternately connected to circularly arranged convections 13 of an element 12 which is rotatably mounted at 11 to the gun body 9 whereby rotation of the element 12 to select a powder channel 18 automatically results in air being discharged through the dispensing channel 14 before that selected powder channel is aligned with the channel 14. Various other arrangements are described in which the connections are disposed in a straight line in a member displaceable longitudinally of the gun body, are disposed in an arc on a rotatable sector shaped element, are circularly arranged on a member relative to which a gun body is rotatable, disposed on a cylinder which is rotatable around a gun body disposed therein, and finally, disposed such that the powder channels are located on the surface of a truncated cone around a central air channel, in an element which is mounted via a Cardan suspension within a casing, whereby selective actuation of cylinders (30 or 30'), Fig 9, (not shown), causes the element to pivot thus aligning a selected powder channel with the gun's dispersing channel. The powders are each supplied from containers in an entraining air flow.
