Abstract
139,536. Humphrey, J. F. Nov. 20, 1918. Pistons, attaching to and detaching from rod.- In an internal-combustion engine having oppositely-moving pistons, which slide one over an extension of the other, the central connecting-rod is secured to a gudgeon-pin carried by a cylindrical member Q fixed to the piston P, the rods connected to the other piston being secured to gudgeon-pins mounted in a ring T. The piston P is constructed with a cover plate N which bears upon the periphery of the piston and against a ring R through which pass holding down bolts x. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 13889/08, 2322/13, and 13217/15, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of.].
