Abstract
1394541 Display screens SOC ECA 5 March 1973 [31 March 1972] 10552/73 Heading G5C A point A of a light-transmitting screen 1 is illuminated by a plurality of light beams directed through the edges thereof. As shown in Fig. 1, mirror systems 3, 4, 5 are positioned at the corners of the screen to divide a coherent light beam 6 into three beams a, b, c which intersect at A. The corners are recessed at 26 to facilitate entry of the light beams. Partially reflecting mirrors 7 and 15 together with totally reflecting mirror 20 are rotatable in order to vary the position of point A. In a second embodiment, the three light beams a, b, c are provided by three lasers together with means for deflecting the light beams in the desired directions. The beams may be of different colours.
