Abstract
1392025 Toothed gearing FUJI DENKI SEIZO KK 11 April 1973 [13 April 1972] 17420/73 Heading F2Q [Also in Division G1] A planetary transmission arranged to signal when a torque above a predetermined limit is transmitted comprises a sun-wheel 2 mounted on drive shaft 1, three planet 3 mounted on the driven shaft 19 via bearings 4, a ring gear 5 frictionally restrained against rotation so as to rotate only when the torque being transmitted is above a predetermined limit, a wheel 13 rotated by rotation of the ring gear 5, and a switch 17 actuated via a cam 15 when the wheel 13 is rotated. Ring gear 5 is rotatively mounted in a housing 6 and is restrained against rotation by frictional contact with members 7 and 8, member 8 being pushed against ring gear 5 by means of springs 10. Wheel 13 may be a gear wheel meshing with teeth on the ring gear 5 or may be a friction wheel. Rotation of the wheel 13 may rotate a rotary cam 15 or may be arranged to move a cam linearly by a screw and nut mechanism (Fig. 7, not shown). The switch 17 may operate a signal and switch off the drive.
