Abstract

1391887 Valves SNO-TRIK CO 14 Aug 1973 38363/73 Heading F2V In a ball check valve having a separate stainless steel seat member 36 held between two body parts 12, 14, a ball 54 is guided in a conical recess in the end of a spring-loaded retainer 56. The retainer has three grooves 62 for the free passage of fluid and three longitudinally extending prongs 76 which enter a loading spring 59. The prongs are longer than the compressed length of the spring so that when they contact a shoulder 30 in a bore 28 the spring is not fully compressed and flow through the spring can continue. Small diameter bleed openings 67, 69, 71 in the body portions provide an indication of leakage at the seat member or at the external fittings.
