Abstract

1391304 Flexible-tube pumps BSM - ROHRFORDERSYSTEM GmbH 12 July 1972 [23 July 1971] 32591/72 Heading F1F [Also in Division F2] A pump for a liquid such as a slurry, includes a radially extendible hose 1 (see Division F2) fastened at its end portions, after being axially contracted, to a core 3 by clamp rings 9. Liquid in the annular space between the core 3 and an outer wall 5 is squeezed along the direction of flow as the hose 1 is radially expanded by admitting a pressurizing fluid to passageways 32, 33 in the core from an inlet 81, as shown in the upper half of the Fig. The liquid is prevented from flowing backwards by arranging a similar pump upstream (dashed lines) to be in the expanded hose condition before the hose of the pump shown is expanded.
