Abstract

1390634 Injection moulds PIONEER PLASTIC CONTAINERS Ltd 12 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 17707/72 Heading B5A An injection mould comprises two parts 10, 11 which are relatively axially movable and have co-operating locating surfaces 24, 31 which determine the relative radial positions of the mould parts, and the locating surface 24 on one of the mould parts is radially adjustable. In the example shown, a plastics container 12 is moulded between male and female mould parts 14, 27. The locating surface 24 is formed by a frusto-conical surface of a locating ring 22 which is divided into a series of arcuate segments by a series of radial cuts (32), Fig. 2 (not shown). Each segment is secured by a bolt 23 and is adjustable by means of a cap screw 33 and locking nut 34. The mould part 14 has a cooling water inlet 15 and outlet 20 connected to a central recess containing an insert 17 having a spiral fin 18. A stripping ring 35 having spring loaded pins 36 may be provided.
