Abstract

1390326 Tensioning flexible printing plates HEIDELBERGER DRUCKMASCHINEN AG 17 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 18467/73 Heading B6C Flexible printing plate is tensioned about cylinder 2 between fixed clamp 3 and sliding clamp 8, which is biased in a tensioning direction by two springs 18, 19 and can be held in a non- tensioning position by a pivoted stop 25. When a new plate is inserted the sliding clamp is pushed to the cylinder periphery, and the stop is moved into place by hand or by a spring. Cams 6, 12 are turned to open and close the clamps, then the stop is knocked clear and the springs tension the plate. A further tensioning may be applied by nut 34.
