Abstract
1389863 Esterified block polyether dyeing assistants BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABKIK AG 28 July 1972 [29 July 1971] 35330/72 Heading C3R [Also in Division D1] Mono- and di-esterified block polyethers of the formula Y-Z-X, wherein X denotes a C 8-30 fatty acid radical, Y denotes hydrogen or X, Z denotes -A-B-A-, A denotes a block of 4 to 100 e hylene oxide units, B denotes a block of 4 to 100 monomer units based exclusively on a cyclic ether having a C 3-12 -containing continuous chain and at least 4 carbon atoms or on a mixture of one or more such ethers with ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide units, the sum of the monomer units in one block A and one block B being equal to or greater than 10, are prepared by conventional ethoxylation of a polyether containing the block B and subsequent mono- or di-esterification of the intermediate block polyether glycol with a C 8-30 fatty acid. The above compounds are used as dyeing assistants in conjunction with non-ionic and/or cationic or anionic surfactants, water and/or organic solvents. Exemplified surfactants are the sodium salt of the sulphuric acid half-ester of the condensation product of stearyl alcohol and 80 moles of ethylene oxide, the condensation product of castor oil and 47 moles of ethylene oxide, 80% sulphated castor oil, the condensation product of nonylphenol and 10 moles of ethylene oxide, the condensation product of oleic acid and 5 moles of ethylene oxide, the diethanolamine salt of dodecylbenzenesulphonic acid, the sodium salt of sulphated oleylbutylamide and the condensation product of oleylamine and 12 moles of ethylene oxide. The dyeing of woollen, polyester and polyamide textiles is exemplified.
