Abstract
1389386 Hydraulic control circuits BORG-WARNER CORP 18 June 1973 [13 July 1972] 28887/73 Heading F1P In the circuit shown in Fig.1, with a control valve 30 as shown, fluid is cooled when it passes from a variable displacement pump 10 through a restriction 50, conduit 47, valve 30 and conduit 44 to a sump 11. Output fluid in excess of this limited flow causes pressure to build up in conduits 41, 45 and in a displacement decreasing cylinder 24, so that the pump output decreases to a minimum. At the same time the pressure in a displacement increasing cylinder 23 and in conduit 46 is reduced. When the valve 30 is moved to its other position, a rotor 12 is operated and the conduit 47 is closed preventing any cooling flow to the sump: Fig.2, (not shown), illustrates a similar arrangement in which the restriction 50 is replaced by a relief valve and the motor has a minimum displacement stop. In Fig.3, when a control valve 30 is in the neutral position shown, flow through a line 41 is blocked and pressure fluid acts on a land 69 of a sensor valve spool 61 to move it to the right against a spring 75. This connects ports, 65, 66 and pressure acts on a displacement decreasing cylinder 24 through conduits 81, and 82. Some cooling fluid passes through a central bore 72 in the spool 61, out of port 68 and through conduit 83 to the sump via control valve 30. When the control valve is moved to operate the motor 12, fluid-pressure acts on a land 71 to move the spool 61 to the left thereby connecting the displacement decreasing cylinder 24 to the sump. The flow of cooling liquid is interrupted because port 32 is not connected to the sump.
