Abstract

1388821 Valves CRANE CANADA Ltd 8 Jan 1973 [10 March 1972] 921/73 Heading F2V A valve seat assembly of a butterfly valve is accommodated in an annular groove 17 in the body of the valve and comprises a ring-shaped valve seat 21 of elastomeric material and a pressure ring of wedge-shaped cross-section consisting of a plurality of segments 22<SP>1</SP> held to the body by fastening means including screws 26. The fastening means may comprise a T-shaped block located between the ends of adjacent segments. The block may also be wedge-shaped, in which case the wings portions 23a may be dispensed with. In another embodiment the segments comprise semicylindrical channels at each end so that adjacent segments form an aperture for the reception of the screw.
