Abstract

1388676 Hydrotherapeutic treatment SWIMMING POOLS (FILTRATION) Ltd 10 April 1973 17142/73 Heading A5R [Also in Divisions A1 A4 and B1] An apparatus for providing hydrothereapeutical treatment provides for partially immersing the patient in a container 1 of water and the application to the patient's body of jets of a mixture of water and gas. The nozzles 19 may be applied beneath the surface of the water, and/or above it, or the jets may issue from at least one hose held by an operator. A means for controlling the temperature of the water is incorporated in a first recirculation arrangement comprising a pump 12 drawing from an outlet 9 in the side of the container and discharging through filter 13 and heater 14 before returning the water to the container via inlets 16A, 16B. Chlorine for purification may be injected at 15. A second recirculating arrangement has an offtake via the outlet 17 to a pump 18 which returns the water to the container via Venturis (20) and jets 19. Attached to the Venturi at or near the throat is a pipe (21) whose other end is open to atmosphere. Entry and exit to the pool is via ramps 2 and 3 covered with a non-slip surface.
