Abstract

1388602 Unwinding apparatus J GODDERIDGE 19 April 1972 [11 May 1971] 18192/72 Heading D1J The strand F from the fixed spool 1 passes over a rotating capping flange 12, having a rounded periphery and surrounding one cheek of the spool, and then through a rotating -central tube 7 having a flared end 8 that projects out of the spool, the flange 12 and the tube 7 being driven together. The tube 7 may be biassed outwardly by a spring 9. Flexible fingers may be located around the periphery of the flange 12 and the whole may be enclosed in an antiballooning cylinder 14.
