Abstract

1388345 Fastener driving tools BUKAMA GmbH HANNOVER 26 Oct 1973 [27 Oct 1972] 49917/73 Addition to 1355929 Heading B4C [Also in Division F2] An improvement of the valve arrangement described in Specification 1,355,929 for controlling the operation of a pneumatic actuator for use in a pneumatically operated stapler or percussion tool, comprises an additional 0-ring 51 which is radially expanded during the downward stroke of the piston 6 to vent the space beneath the piston to atmosphere, but which, a fraction of a second after the seating of the piston 6 on the buffer 8, is pressed radially inwardly by the working fluid to close the exhaust passage 52. The 0-ring communicates with the working fluid in the cylinder 4 via a passage 53, a delay-inducing restriction 54, and orifices 13 and 14 in the cylinder wall. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the 0-ring 51 communicates directly with the fluidinlet passage 20 through a conduit (55).
