Abstract

1386926 Cable jointing process INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 5 Sept 1973 [6 Sept 1972] 41834/73 Heading H2E In a method of joining cables as described in Specification 1,195,788 cooling fluid is passed through a chamber in the vice during welding. The vice is also claimed and comprises two parts 17, 18 which contain separate parts 28, 29 of the chamber and are secured together by screws in shoulders 19, 20. The chamber has inlet and outlet ports 30, 31, 32, 33 and extends circumferentially to overlie annular groove 21 and part of the adjacent surface of the vice. The cooling fluid may be water.
