Abstract

1386898 Prefabricated furnace blocks DIDIER-WERKE AG 3 Jan 1973 [3 Jan 1972] 372/73 Heading F4B A refractory block or prefabricated lining section, particularly for metallurgical furnaces, comprises a lattice of metalwork, supporting a number of adhesively bonded bricks which engage the lattice at or near their cold ends. The horizontal members 2 of the lattice engage grooves 7 near one end of a face of each brick, and the vertical lattice members 1 engage in shoulders 8 formed near the cold end of the side faces of each brick. Two bricks 5 may be engaged in each space of the lattice. The lattice of each section may have a lifting eye 10 and brackets 9 at each end and a detachable handling bracket may be secured to the furnace side of the block. The panels may be secured to the furnace framework without the use of any casing members, Fig. 5, the lattice 12 having securing lugs 13 and the ends of each panel bearing against one wing of a channel section 17 secured to the H-section supporting column 16. The bars of the lattice may be connected to the lattice bars of an adjacent panel.
