Abstract
1386757 Reciprocating pumps and motors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 30 March 1973 [19 April 1972] 15518/73 Heading F1A A radial piston pump or motor comprises a rotary cylinder block 9 with pistons 13 engaging an adjustable eccentric ring 17 via slippers 15, the diameter of the ball joint 23, 24 connecting each piston and slipper being at least 90% of the piston diameter, and the effective surface area of hydrostatic load relief zones 31, 34 on the surfaces of the shoe transmitting radial forces being at least 90% of the effective area of the piston. Zones 31, 34 are fed from the working cylinder via passages 32, 33. In Fig. 5 (not shown) the flow path to zones 31, 34 is throttled and the effective surface area of the relief zones is greater than that of the piston. A pin 25 connecting the piston to the slipper is force-fitted into slipper bore 26 and has a retaining head 29 with a partspherical surface 30 engaging a complementary surface on the piston. Each slipper is retained on the ring 17 by a hooked projection 35, Fig. 1. The ring eccentricity is adjusted by a hand wheel 21. In Fig. 6 (not shown) the relief zones are formed by clearances between part-spherical surfaces on the slipper and piston of different radii. In Fig. 7 (not shown) the piston has a part-spherical recess (56) engaged by a partspherical head (59) attached by a stem (58) to the slipper (57), a retaining pin being force-fitted at one end into the piston and having a convex head (62) at its other end engaging a complementary seat within the slipper head.
