1386571 Loudspeaker enclosure ACOUSTIC FIBER SOUND SYSTEMS Inc 23 Jan 1973 [31 Jan 1972] 3452/73 Headings H4J and H4X Loudspeaker enclosure has walls formed of at least two layers of corrugated material with the direction of corrugation in each layer at right angles to the direction of corrugation in adjacent layers as described the enclosure is formed from three rectangular section tube members 20, 30, 40 which slide one inside another with mating panels glued together until all sides of of the resulting enclosure comprise two thicknesses of corrugated fibre board. The outer sleeve 40 is of length such that it extends slightly beyond the surfaces of the second sleeve 30 forming recesses in which a baffle board 50 covered with grille cloth 55, and a rear panel 60 are located. The outer surfaces of the outer sleeve 40 can be covered with a decorative veneer 66 of vinyl plastics, paper, wood, &c. and the loudspeaker is mounted either by bolting a peripheral flange thereof to the baffle board or by trapping the peripheral flange between the baffle board and the front of the sleeve member 30; possibly in a recess formed in the rear surface of the baffle board Fig. 7 (not shown). A connector 75 is mounted with a peripheral flange thereon trapped between the rear panel and the rear surface of sleeve 30 with apertures in the sleeves and panel to accomodate the connector body, Fig. 5 (not shown). A layer of polyurethane foam can be provided between the decorative veneer and the outer surface of the enclosure and between the baffie board (50) and the front of the sleeve (30), Fig. 6 (not shown).
