Abstract

1386410 Combined shower and massage apparatus A G GONZALEZ 10 Feb 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 57447/71 Heading A4N [Also in Division A5] A combined shower and massage apparatus has a vertically movable, horizontal, rotatable shaft 4 with a holder 9 for a massage brush or sponge 10 mounted at one end thereof for rotation therewith, means for conducting water from a supply thereof, and with other liquids, to the holder 9, a shower unit 12 vertically movable with shaft 4, and means for selectively controlling supply of water to the unit 12 or holder 9. The shaft 4 is rotated by an electric motor 3 provided on a housing 22 sliding in a vertical channel member, housing 22, shaft 4 and unit 12 being raised and lowered by means of a cable which is wound up or unwound by the motor 3. Water from control valve 15 passes via conduit 84 into a chamber 47, defined by a stationary member 38 and a rotating member 46, and thence via conduits 13 to the holder 9 and to containers 7 for various treatment liquids. Containers 7 are rotatably mounted by arms 6 on a sleeve rotating with member 54 and shaft 4, the containers 7 being connected to holder 9 via conduits 72. Sleeve 56 is telescopically mounted on member 54, springs 60 acting between sleeve 56 and member 54.
