Abstract

1385313 Double twist spindle; wetting yarns PALITEX PROJECT-CO GmbH 5 Sept 1973 [5 April 1973 22 Aug 1973] 41764/73 Heading DID A double twist spindle comprises a porous firm body 13 on a hollow shaft of the spindle which supplies a liquid from a reservoir 12 mounted on the spindle. The porous body 13 can be formed of sintered polyethylene, bronze or chromium-nickel-steel, or balser wood. The porous body 13 may have webs extending down into the reservoir and the webs may be partially covered with a layer impervious to the porous body, e.g. using plastics, lacquer or bushes. The outer surface of the porous body may be coated with an impervious layer for easy handling. The reservoir may be mounted above the bobbin on the upper end of the spindle, Fig. 6 not shown. The position of porous body along the hollow spindle may be variable, Figs. 4 and 5 not shown, by mounting the reservoir on a threaded or stepped support.
