Abstract

1384958 Centrifugal blowers ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 30 March 1972 [2 April 1971] 14955/72 Heading F1C A blower for ventilating and air-conditioning systems of motor vehicles comprises a drum-type impeller 11 arranged within a housing having two outlets each adapted to be connected to a respective duct for conveying air to a different location in the vehicle, the housing being divided by a wall perpendicular to the impeller axis into two parts 12, 13 each defining a circumferentially widening volute around the impeller terminating in a respective one of the outlets and in which the impeller also has a dividing wall 26 dividing the impeller into two parts each associated with a respective one of the housing parts and each having a respective axial intake port 20, 29. The two outlets are oppositely directed and the volutes each entered over an arc of about 300 degrees. The two housing parts 12, 13 are formed separately and joined to one another by, e.g. spot welding.
