Abstract

1384671 Valves ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 5 Jan 1973 [12 Feb 1972] 856/73 Heading F2V The housing for a spool valve is constructed with a gradual taper in the bore to facilitate extraction of the core during manufacture. Within the housing 10 individual valve chambers are formed by separate sleeve elements 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 supporting external 0-ring seals 45 and internal lip sealing rings 46. The flanges 42 of the sleeve elements which support the 0-rings are of two different diameters to ensure that the taper of the housing is compensated for but the 0-rings and lip seals are each of the same size. The taper in the housing may be between 1À5 and 1À0 degrees if the housing is produced by die casting aluminium or as low as 0-3 degrees if by injection moulding from plastics material.
