Abstract
1384168 Removing scum J B F SCIENTIFIC CORP 23 May 1972 [10 June 1971 6 March 1972] 24162/72 Heading B1D Floatage is recovered from a body of liquid, e.g. oil and solid debris from an expanse of water, by submerging the floatage 16 under a downwardly inclined endless conveyor 14 which has a forward end 38 above the surface and a back end 42 below the liquid with advancement from forward to back. The floatage is submerged under the conveyor and then is released at said back and where it can be collected in an open-bottomed enclosure 18 as it buoyantly rises. The recovery can be made in a boat adapted to carry the endless conveyor.
