Abstract

1383721 Display units LE PRESENTOIR SEILLER 23 March 1973 [30 March 1972 7 Feb 1973] 14122/73 Heading A4T A display unit for displaying objects, such as spectacles, at its periphery, comprises members 3, Figs. 1, 2 and 3, which are placed one on top of the other, means being provided for leaving a gap between the members when the unit is in an extended position for use and making it possible to fit the members one into the other eliminating the gap when the unit is in a position for storage, transportation or stacking. The members may be of sheet plastics material which is heat welded, moulded or injected or of pressed metal sheet. Each member has a sector 1 provided with bosses 5 which extend upwardly from the member and are of truncated conical form, the upper surfaces of which are provided with cups 6. The bosses alternate with cups 7 which extend from the lower surface of the member. In use, the members are arranged so that the cups 7 are engaged in the cups 6 as shown in Fig. 3 to provide a gap between the members, the peripheries of which a V-shaped cross-section and are provided on their outer sides with apertures 12a, 12b for receiving the arms of spectacles for display thereof. For storage or transportation of the unit, the members are rotated through 120 degrees relative to one another so that the bosses 5 are received within one another, Fig. 2. In another embodiment, the members 3, Figs. 7 and 9, are each formed with three sectors each having a helical surface 17 and a helical rim 4. The members may be disposed for displaying spectacles with the arms thereof extending through apertures 12, the members being arranged so that the rims form continuous helices Fig. 7, and with projections 26 extending from the lower surface of one member into openings 24 in the other. When the members are rotated 120 degrees relative to one another they rest one in the other Fig. 9, for transportation or storage. The centres of the members have apertures 13 for receiving the rod of a frame of a shop display unit.
