Abstract

1381981 Non-aerated natural gas burners ADAPTOGAS Ltd 22 Dec 1972 [1 Jan 1972] 24/72 Heading F4T A non-aerated natural-gas burner comprises a manifold defined between a burner top 3 and a trough 1 having a supply pipe leading to an aperture 5 therein, pinholes 8 in the top 3, which is without grooves or slits, forming main flame ports, each hole 8 having an area of between 0À000075 and 0À00015 of a square inch, and a shroud 4 surrounding the sides of a gulley 6 of top 3 and having nicks 12 in its sides to define retention flame ports, a flange 11 of shroud 4 resting on a flange 7 of top 3, which flange 7 rests on a bottom part of a flange 2 of trough 1, and the top part of flange 2 being bent around on to the top of flange 11 to form a gas-tight joint. Gas passes to the retention flame ports via holes 15 in the ends of the gulley 6. Dust is filtered from the incoming gas stream by a foil screen 16 which is blanked-off over aperture 5. Holes 14 may be provided in the side wall 9 of shroud 4 at the ends thereof to give small outwardly-extending stable flames for crosslighting to an adjacent burner. Each retention flame port has an area of 0À00015 to 0À0003 of a square inch.
