Abstract

1379877 Toy building blocks CBS Inc 3 Aug 1973 [15 Aug 1972] 36889/73 Heading A6S A generally cube-shaped hollow toy building block has a pair of crossed right-angled notches extending completely across each of two opposing end faces so that its four sides are hourglass-shaped, generally triangular partitions converging inwardly from each of the four remaining straight edges of the block towards its centre. The block is moulded from a plastics. As shown, the open bottom of a block is defined by the edges of its four hourglassshaped sides 12..15. Generally triangular partitions 16..19 connect the straight edges of the block to a central post 20. Rectangular partitions 29..32 connect the necks of the hourglass-shaped sides to the post 20. The top of the block may similarly be open, or may be closed by triangular panels (21, &c.), Fig. 4 (not shown). Figs. 1, 2 (not shown) illustrate a prior art form of toy building bricks, each of which is solid, is made of wood, has a pair of crossed right-angled notches extending completely across each of two opposing end faces so that its four sides are hourglass-shaped.
