1377948 Polymer derivatives LUBRIZOL CORP 5 Nov 1971 29289/74 Divided out of 1377077 Heading C3P [Also in Divisions C4- C5] Additives for lubricants and fuels are prepared by reacting a monoamino aliphatic sulphonic acid (defined) or derivative thereof with a carboxylic acid acylating agent containing at least 50 aliphatic carbon atoms exclusive of the carboxyl group. The products may take the form of metal salts. In examples, aminomethyl sulphonic acid, taurine, 10-amino-1-decane sulphonic acid ethyl ester and 4-amino-1,2- butane disulphonic acid are reacted with polyisobutenyl succinic anhydride or polyisobutenyl carboxylic acid chloride (prepared from polyisobutylene and chloroacetyl chloride, or from chlorinated polyisobutylene and methacrylic acid chloride).
