Abstract
1377595 Treating waste water with yeast HITACHI Ltd 15 March 1973 [21 March 1972 29 March 1972 19 June 1972 19 July 1972] 12559/73 Heading C1C Pollutants, e.g. surface active agents, metals and dyes, are removed from waste water by contacting the water with yeast (any species) to adsorb the pollutants and then separating the yeast. The process may be carried out by passing the waste water through a column, packed with yeast or by mixing the waste water (optionally with agitation) with yeast in a first container and then into a separator. Separation may take place in a settling basin, by filtration or by centrifuge.
