1377500 Magazine gramophone YUGENKAISHA WATANABE KENKYUSHO 31 Dec 1971 [28 Aug 1971] 60916/71 Heading G5R In a magazine gramophone, movement of control 14 to the left moves the lowermost record 6 in magazine 47 to its play position on turntable 3, this movement also ejects a previous record on the turntable through outlet 49 and return movement of the control to the right energizes the turntable drive motor 39 and lowers pick-up arm 21. The control 14 includes an arm 14<SP>1</SP> having a concave portion which engages the periphery of the lowermost record in the magazine 47 which has walls 46 which extend to within slightly more than a record thickness of panel member 20 on which arm 14<SP>1</SP> rides. Thus the remaining records are retained as the engaged record is moved towards the turntable 3. A spring loaded record centring member 26 is moved upwardly against the action of spring 27 by the engaged record or by the record being moved off the turntable thereby and then acts to centre the engaged iecord. When the control is moved to the right a part 15 thereof engages and pivots an arm 9 against the action of spring 8. The arm actuates switches 16, 16<SP>1</SP> to energize the turntable drive motor 39 and also an inclined portion 10 thereof moves away from a member 12 which during the record change process holds the apex of speaker cone 22 away from sound vibration conducting member 34 and pick-up arm 21, allowing the latter to lift off the record and return to its start position against stop 41 under the action of spring 32. As the inclined portion moves away spring 43 urges the speaker apex, the member 34 and the pick-up arm 21 into engagement and stylus 30 into contact with the record groove. At the end of record play the pick-up arm engages movable contact 36 to open the supply to the drive motor.
