Abstract

1376302 Motor vehicle dashboards; veritilating passages CREATORS Ltd 21 Jan 1972 [21 Jan 1971] 2894/71 Headings B7B and B7H [Also in Division F4] In a motor vehicle dashboard or other panel having a front facia 1 moulded from a selfskinning plastics material such as polyurethane or polyvinylchloride, or from fibre-board, the facia 1 has moulded integrally therewith at each end an annular socket 2 which surrounds an opening 3 in the facia and is formed with a part-spherical internal surface 4 for receiving a complimentary external portion 6 of an eyeball ventilator 5 formed from rigid plastics material and snap-fitted into the socket. Metal trim 10 may be provided on the facia around the socket 2 and may co-operate with an extension of a steel back-plate 7 to form means 11 for mounting the dashboard. A tubular metal duct 9 is secured to the back-plate 7 to receive an air supply hose, or the rearwardly projecting duct portion may be moulded integrally with the facia 1.
