Abstract

1376044 Tyre inner tubes MICHELIN & CIE (COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABS MICHELIN) 28 June 1972 [28 June 1971] 30367/72 Heading B7C A tyre inner tube 1 consists of an extruded tube 4 of an elastomer having a Shore hardness of less than 50 reinforced by two circumferential bands 5, 6 one each side of a wheel rim engaging zone 3, of an elastomer having a Shore hardness not less than 50, the bands being welded to the tube 4 during vulcanization, and not extending beyond the normal circular shape of the tube cross-section. The width of each band is from 5% to 15% of the circumference of the tube section and has a thickness of between one half and double the maximum thickness of the tube, the latter being thicker in the zone 3 than in the crown zone 2. Both the tube 4 and bands 5, 6 may have a base of butyl rubber.
