Abstract

137,590. Conrad, G. A. Jan. 13, 1919. Fusible cut-outs.-A fuse cartridge comprises a longitudinally-divided insulating-member B, a fuse strip C located between the parts and extending beyond the ends of the member B, and metallic end caps E adapted to secure together the parts of the members B and the fuse strip. One part of the member B is provided with projections b, Fig. 9, which engage corresponding recesses in the other part and limit the width of the fuse strip which can be inserted. The projections may be arranged in two sets of short ribs in alinement, in order to permit the use of a fuse strip with indented edges. The thickness of the fuse strip is limited by the end caps E. The end caps may be made from a sheet-metal blank, Fig. 8, the middle portion of the blank being bent into a projecting tongue E<1>, Fig. 6, adapted to engage the opposing springs of a fuse board. The cartridge is also adapted for use with fuse-supporting plugs such as are described in Specification 137,591.
