Abstract
137,580. Underwood, E. W. Jan. 9, 1919. Limbs, artificial.-The pin a of a knee-joint is formed as a single-throw crank, as seen separately in Fig. 3. The crank-pin carries a roller b round which passes a strap which reaches the outside of the bucket through openings n fitted with rollers. The ends of the strap pass through eyes o on the bucket, and are then bifurcated and fitted with rings r for attachment to the usual brace or shoulder harness. The crank-arms d are formed on the curves as shown, and the roller b is kept at a level not higher than the pin a, so that it does not project into the path of a stump should this be unusually long. The pins a have squared portions to fit into corresponding holes in the hingo straps.
