Abstract

1375691 Fuze setting arrangement TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS GmbH 23 Nov 1964 [21 March 1964] 47649/64 Heading F3A In a rocket or missile fuze setting arrangement, the fuze controller is coupled to the setting device by inductive or capacitive means or directly by wires. The controller is mounted with the fuze, and is expendable. The input setting signals are supplied before launching to the setting device by three rotary step switches which are adjusted externally so as to provide the required predetermined firing signal to the fuze primer at a desired time interval of the launching. The input signals are supplied in the form of a binary decimal code and are converted to a digital code, within the controller, prior to application to the control device. The use of a digital code facilitates the simple fabrication of the expendable control devices. The control device comprises a known digital counter which counts the pulses from a master clock. During the acceptance of the control signal, the control device counts upwards and then subsequenty counts downwards, to the starting or primer firing signal, supervised by a master clock, in steps of 0À1 second. Conversion from the binary decimal code to the digital system is effected by a known form of switching matrix. Fault indication is provided at the setting device when no setting signal is developed after a complete setting sequence.
