Abstract

1374702 Cutting mechanisms MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AG 2 May 1972 [3 May 1971] 20253/72 Heading A1F A skid plate 12 extends over the entire width of a combine's cutter and is attached by brackets 13 to runners 5 which are pivotally connected at their front ends to the underside of the casing 3 so as to be vertically adjustable by means of lugs 6 and 8 having a range of holes 7, 9 for receiving bolts 11 of tie brackets 10. The plate 12 and runners 5 preferably have the same outline so that they can abut the casings underside to provide a minimum cutting height in which position brackets 10 are not used and lugs 6 and 8 are directly conected together. In an alternative embodiment the runners 5 are absent and the plate 12 is adapted to be connected to the brackets 10 or the lugs 8.
