Abstract

1374679 Wells &c OTIS ENG CORP 21 April 1972 [28 April 1971] 18541/72 Heading E1F In the event of a hazardous condition or disaster occurring the flow from a producing formation F is cut-off by allowing a flow conductor T to fall to bring an imperforate length A of the conductor into engagement with packers P 1 ,P 2 , set below and above the formation. The conductor may fall as a result of the disaster or the fall may follow the blasting of the well head. The fallen conductor is shown as being supported by the bottom of the well, but it may be supported by a stop on the conductor adjacent the imperforate length engaging the upper packer. Should the conductor be severed and the imperforate part fall through the upper packer, the flow is cut-off by a valve V.
