Abstract

1373554 Knitting-machines FOUQUETWERK FRAUZ & PLANCK 9 Feb 1972 [13 Feb 1971] 6003/72 Heading D1C [Also in Division H1] In a circular machine jack butts 16 in the cylinder or dial are selectively pressed by leaf springs 6 attracted by a solenoid. The springs comprise several elements secured together and fixed at one end by a screw 8. The other end carries a butt deflector 10. The solenoid comprises a coil 3 and a core 1 with pole pieces 2, 19. An armature 9 on the spring is attracted to, the air gap between the poles, so that the deflector is aligned with the corresponding butt. The magnets are arranged in vertical banks offset from one another, to accommodate a large number. The springs are correspondingly bent sideways so that their deflectors are vertically aligned. The solenoids and springs are mounted in a housing which is supplied with pressurised air to reduce dust and fly.
